January 14, 2002
- Mayor
Holland had resigned and Debbie Weaver was appointed as Mayor. Mark King appointed as Mayor-Pro
Tem. Since there was a vacancy
on the Board of Trustees advertising had taken place. There had been 4 letters of
interest. Jodi Cramer was sworn
in as the new Trustee.
- Robert
Gardner, Staff Petroleum Engineer with Williams Energy Services
(formerly Barrett Resources Corp.) was in the process of planning a 17
mile 20 natural gas gathering pipeline from Parachute to approximately
2 miles west of the Town of DeBeque .
The pipeline would enter lands owned by the town. A workshop was scheduled for
February 6th, 2007.
- Mayor Weaver
had met with Chuck Vidal who is John Sterns, attorney about the
possibility that Mr. Sterns would donate some property for a town
park. Mr. Stearns, wanted to
have the town develop additional streets for easier access to his
property if he donated any. The
Board of Trustees decided after discussion that it would not be in the
towns best interest to proceed with the idea.
February
13, 2002
- Resolution
number 2002-01 was approved and passed. The Resolution was concerning the
annexation petition for the Cheney Annexation No. 2.
- Ordinance no
264 amending Title 10 of the DeBeque Municipal Code by enacting
offenses related to the furnishing, purchasing or possessing of
tobacco products by persons under eighteen years old. A fine of $100.00 could be enforced.
- Gene Hess
complained about the profanity in the park by our youth.
- Nick Marx
reported that he had received some bid for raising the fire
hydrants. Nick reported that 9
hydrants needed to be raised and 2 needed to be removed. The board accepted and passed a
motion to accept the lowest by from Mt. Valley Contracting for
$6071.00.
March
13, 2002
- A letter was
presented to the Board of Trustees concerning the law enforcement in
DeBeque. This meeting was one
of the few with standing room only.
There was a lot of discussion about getting video camera’s, why
was the Marshal responding to a fire in Collbran, and starting a
neighborhood watch. A lot of
the out of town residences stated that if it wasn’t for Jason, they
would be waiting for several hours, the parents needed to take care of
a lot of the problems in town and not expect the police department to
baby-sit.

Production RMT Company wanted to put a 20 inch diameter high pressure
natural gas pipeline in and around DeBeque.
May 13, 2002—
- Pat Curtis
announced the Wild Horse Days Committee has been holding meetings the
first Saturday of each month and anyone who would like to come is
welcome.
- Lorene Nolan
wanted to know whey the Marshal keeps letting people park in front of
fire hydrants.
- Lorene also
wanted to know why the big trucks are in town when there is a bypass
made by Occidental.
- Why had the
newsletters stopped being mailed.
Wendell said that the cost of mailing was $300.00 per month and
anyone wanting a newsletter could come into the town hall and get one
during business hours.
June
10, 2002
ü Jason Kunes submitted a written report and the
only thing he wanted was any information or help anyone could give him to
locate Jason Trout. Jason Trout had
been missing for two week and no one knows where he’s at or how he’s doing.
ü Trini Bowers asked Jason if he would be living
in town and he said he would be with in a two minute response time.
July
15, 2002
ü Mountain Ramp, Inc had sent proposal for a
skate park. It was to be installed
on the existing basketball court that is not used. Trine Bowers, chairperson for this
committee, said the way it’s built it would be easy to expand or add more
pieces. The board passed the motion
to build the skate park.
ü Mayor Cramer had suggested purchasing the
building next door for a Community Center and the attorneys are requiring a
resolution for that purpose. The
board passed Resolution #202-05
(Series 2002) authorizing the purchase of that building.
ü The Board of Trustees made a motion to adopt an
ordinance concerning the use and operation of off-highway vehicles within
the town of DeBeque.
August
19, 2002
ü Stacy
Dean expressed her appreciation to the Town of DeBeque for purchasing her
pig at the Rifle County Fair.
ü Mountain
Ramp is supposed to start work in about eight weeks.
ü Ordinance
No. 270 was discussed and passed by the Board of Trustees concerning ATV’S.
ü The
Board wanted to change the meeting nights to the second Monday of each
month.
October 15, 2002
ü Jason Kunes, Marshal, submitted a resignation.
ü Dawn Palmer, Planning Commission Chairperson, wanted
to let the board know the responsibilities of the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission represents
citizens and not elected officials and we report to our board and elected
officials. The Planning commission
Members must follow the rules and regulation the town has put forth.
November 25, 2005
ü B.J. Jacquelin, Town Clerk, asked the board if
they would like to sponsor a Christmas lighting contest. She also wanted to congratulate the Mayor
concerning the community pig roast, the food and entertainment was great
and everyone that came had a very nice time.
December 9, 2005
ü A program was ordered to log all the cemetery
plots, by name and plot number.
ü The skate board park is to start building on
December 16, 2002.
ü Donna Milholland retired from the Town of
DeBeque.
ü Christmas Open House was held on December 13,
2002.
